The Somber Saint

Once a somber saint I met clouded midst the snow
Where earth kissed the feet of water and existence dearth grow

Perched on his barren dwelling, his aura calm and composed
Erroneously known as destructive one or the giver of life juxtaposed
His entrancing qualities lured many like me to places harsh and wild
only his psalms can ease the pain to an awakening sweet and mild

The dreaded and traitorous worldly armor his comrades had to quit
His clads and kundals remind me of the high resolve and grit
Enigma of his presence leaves many and a folks in trance
Some fail to comprehend his mysteries; some exult in just a glance

With eyes closed in deep rumination he knits the fabric of my being
I keep scaling the remotest routes marveling what I’m seeing
Free from the glades of beginning or end, the one- eternal and infinite
Does he deliberately choose to restrain his presence to mounts- tall and might?

Within you- I discover the purest secrets of mankind
The holy rivers find their source in you and the moon settles on your mind

With eyes half opened and angelic smile you continue the cosmic cycle of life
The annihilating third eye and luxurious hair conventionally balance the yogic strife

The swollen neck enclosing evil rancor testifies your physical strength
Time in cycle- past present and future, adorn it with the three coiled serpent

Great master of the trident symbolizing- self-control, action and knowledge
Deliver our soul from karmic cycle, lost in evil and ignorant foliage

Ascetic sage, the knight of knights, redeemer of vice, lust and greed
Your simplicity outshines perceptual realms, birth and death paradox freed
